About Me

I am an early career sociolinguist researching language variation and stylistic practice in Bermuda and other small islands, with a focus on the 'offshore' Anglophone world. I completed my PhD at the University of Oxford in 2018, and my thesis investigated racialized dialect parody in Bermuda. I am currently an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen Mary, University of London, supervised by Erez Levon. Previously I worked as Assistant Professor at the NTNU Department of Language and Literature in Trondheim, teaching courses in Sociolinguistics and Global English.
